# Google Ads Audiences

Freshpaint Audiences allows you to sync your segmented or imported audiences to Google Ads Audiences — all while enabling you to maintain compliance with privacy regulations like HIPAA.

{% hint style="info" %}
In Google Ads, these will appear as Customer Match “Customer lists”, even though Freshpaint refers to them as “Audiences.”
{% endhint %}

This guide walks through how to set up and verify your connection between Freshpaint and your Google Ads Audiences account.

### Google account requirements

The following must be **true** about the Google account you use for this process:

1. Your Google account is associated with the Google Ads account used for this integration.
2. Your Google account is in good standing with Google and not in violation of their [advertising policies](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/topic/1626336?hl=en\&ref_topic=2996750,1308156,\&sjid=11056636369366383869-NA).
3. You have at least [Standard access level permissions](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/9978556?hl=en).

### Connect Google Ads Audiences account to Freshpaint

4. Click Enable, then click **Save** to agree to send the appropriate identifier to the Ad Platform. These properties are required by Google Ads Audiences.
